New Report: Emerging Housing Markets Index

Even with slight cooling of the housing market around the U.S., Raleigh’s housing market is hot. The Wall Street Journal and Realtor.com® released the Fall 2022 Emerging Housing Markets Index report rating Raleigh in ninth place between Columbia, MO, and Yuma, Ariz.

RED director, Kyle Touchstone shares:

“The key to Raleigh’s economic development growth is focusing on residential density while continuing efforts for more affordable housing initiatives (like the 2020 affordable housing bond referendum.) We have something for everyone in Raleigh. Like many others, I live in a multi-family building that’s near my office and walkable to amenities, and I use the city parks as my backyard. I enjoy being close to the heart of downtown but understand that everyone has different housing needs. Understanding those needs is a priority for the city.”

The index measures housing market data, economic vitality, and lifestyle metrics.
